Mahindra & Mahindra launched the Mahindra BE 6, on November 26, 2024, with price starting from ₹18.90 lakhs, the on-road price goes up to ₹23 lakh for Pack One which comes with 59 kWh. The SUV is good for the family for 4, it does have enough space for luggage.

Specifications 

The Mahindra BE 6 comes with two battery options, the first one is of 59 kWh battery pack, which generate the person equivalent to 288 horsepower and torque of 280 nM; and the second one is 79 kWh battery pack, whose horsepower is 268 and torque is 380 nM, same as the first one.

The battery packs of 59 kWh and 79 kWh give a range of 535 km and 682 km, respectively. If we talk about its performance, it goes up to speed 100 km/h from 0 just in 6.7 seconds, the top of this SUV is around 150 km. It has two variants: Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD), which improves handling and grip.

It takes hardly 20 minutes to charge from 20% to 80% with fast charging features, when a 175 kWh DC charger is used. Incase of a typical wall box AC charger it takes around 6 hours. The length, width, height and wheelbase is 4,371 mm, 1,907 mm, 1,627 mm and 2,775 mm, respectively, which means it is a mid-size SUV. 

Exterior 

Mahindra BE 6 is coup-style SUV i.e. it has sloping roofline, which has a sporty and futuristic look. The vehicle has smooth and aerodynamic lines, which reduces the resistance. It has C-shaped LED DRLs at front and rear, which makes it recognizable and improves visibility during the day.

It does have full LED headlamps and taillights that give energy-efficient lighting for better night driving and style; and also have connected light bars in front and rear to add premium EV identity and make it look wider. The vehicle comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, which is built in aerodynamic design to reduce wind drag and improve efficiency.

The vehicle has flush door handles, which pop-ups when touched. It has gloss black roof and contrast body panels, rear spoiler & diffuser styling to reduce wind turbulence at high speed and improve the performance look. 

Interior 

It has a modern and minimalist dashboard with controls built into screens for giving it a futuristic and uncluttered feel like in premium EVs. It has two 12.3 inch screens, the first one is for infotainment, and second is for instrument cluster. Both screens give information in a high-resolution and easy-to-read format for the convenience of the driver.

To make sure that the driver focus isn't removed from the road, the AR-based Heads-Up Display (HUD) has added that projects speed, navigation, and warnings onto the windshield. The front-seat is ventilated, to keep it cool in hot weather, and the rear seats are installed with good legroom.

The EV has a panoramic sunroof, which adds airiness and a luxurious feel. It has a feature named dual-zone climate control, which can be used to set the different temperature for driver and passenger. The rear AC vents are also given for comfort in the back. Dashboard, door panels, and armrests are made up with soft-touch materials, and it does have ambient lighting with multi-color options.

The Infotainment in this SUV is powered by snapdragon 8295 chip, has wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos and multiple Type-C fast-charging ports. It has decent boot space to carry luggage and groceries, and a flat rear floor.

Safety Features 

It has a total of six airbags, which protects driver, front passenger, and side passengers during the collision. The EV has a strong body structure, which absorbs and distributes crash forces to protect the occupants. It has electronic stability control, which balances the vehicle during sudden maneuvers or slippery conditions.

The tyre pressure monitoring system is installed in the SUV to alter the drive about the low tier’s pressure. The car has Level 2 ADAS suite, which makes the SUV partially self-driving that assists the driver. The Adaptive Cruise Control maintains a set speed, Lane Keep Assist helps steer the vehicle to stay inside lane markings.

It has 360-degree Surround view camera and Auto Park Assist to help in parking, it even has Forward Collision Warning (FCW) with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), notify the driver about the impending collision and even apply brakes automatically, if needed.

Price 

The Mahindra BE 6 is available in five variants, the price of each one different from one another. Ex-showroom price for each variant of this EV can be found below:

The on-road price depends on the city, roughly it can be accessed from ₹7 lakh to ₹8 lakh. And one thing you must know is that it doesn't include a home charge, for a 7.2 kW charger one is required to pay ₹50,000; while an 11.2 kW charger costs ₹75,000. Furthermore, the installation charges are also applicable, but it depends on location and setup requirements.
